here’s the thing: I love Kings of Leon. And I freaking love when talented artists cover them.

Sugarland – totally unexpected, right? and fantastic.
Hayley Davis – great voice here. the rip is a little quiet, but it’s worth it.

Use Somebody
Kings of Leon
Bat for Lashes **** – no one does a slow burn like Natasha Khan.
Paramore **** s- surprisingly enjoyable. great acoustic version.
Karima Francis – still prefer Natasha’s version, but it’s damn good. quiet and sparse.

Knocked Up – Lykke Li and Kings of Leon (Rodeo Mash Up) – absolutely fantastic. i like this version better than either solo one.

You know what i also love?

guilty pleasures, part i.

dear diary, can i tell you something? i secretly LOVE country. LOVE it.
cowboys, muddy trucks, fishing down the pond, fried chicken, tractor trailers, mangy dogs, the girl next door… the fact that every song tells a story (!) …what’s not to love?

now, there’s lots to country. id argue that bluegrass and folk probably fall somewhere in the venn diagram, so im going to go out on a limb here (and correct me if im wrong), and say that Neko Case and Alison Krauss are fantastic.
