Last night’s Patrick Wolf show was great. If the Nylon tour stops in your city; go see him! the audience was relatively young, and there were tons of longtime fans, and i can see why: he’s funny, totally avant garde, engaging, shy, playful, brilliant, political, outspoken and puts on a hell of a show. i think he played a total of like 6 instruments over the course of his 2 hr performance. The night ended with a massive singalong and all the fans invited onstage (well, that’s where the show ended. apparently Patrick went and got himself arrested just hours afterwards). Anyway, the show was a lot of fun (though i wish 1. the mic had been louder and 2. i knew his catalog better). Sometimes he reminds me of Antony & the Johnsons. Not phsyically or even vocally, but maybe it’s just the whole avant garde thing? Anyway, the kid’s got an awesome voice and im crossing my fingers that when he moves to SF later this year, i might run into him at Badlands.
From The Bachelor:
The Bachelor <– love the chorus on this. apparently inspired by an appalachian poem about a lonely pig farmer.
Damaris <– great backing vocals on the bridge. star crossed lovers doomed to never be together by the church of england. heavy.
