you know how i know you’re gay? you listen to coldplay.
…except, apparently not.
out magazine just did a list of the “greatest, gayest albums of all time”, and coldplay is conspicuously missing! as are tegan and sara!
the totally obvious: abba, madonna, queen, cyndi, elton, cher and bette midler (who i actually admit i have a soft spot for, though i cant forigive her for butchering delta dawn)
ones they got right (and i love!): kate bush (“this woman’s work” is one of my all time favorite songs ever), antony and the johnsons (gorgeous), and velvet underground & nico (anything nico, actually. her cover of “these days” is fantastic)
the modern classics: ani difranco (dilate, but i would have gone with not a pretty girl), michael jackson and prince (okay, not exactly super new, but still), indigo girls, the smiths, jeff buckley, tracy chapman and the gossip (beth ditto rocks!)
the modern-as-in-actually recent picks: the gossip (yeah, beth ditto!), le tigre (had the album, tried to love it, but ehh im no riot girl), sleater kinney (dig me out – good stuff)
the odd duck: nirvana’s nevermind (really? who knew!)
check out the entirety of the list here:
oh, and at the risk of further ostracizing my straight readers (suz, that’s you), this article totally made my [late] night yesterday: Lindsay Lohan, “I’m really happy.”
i dont care what anyone else says, ive been a lohan fan ever since she did the secret handshake shimmy (with herself!!!!) in parent trap years ago. the girl can act!
props to anyone who understands the reference in this title! virb??
oh, and here’s a fitting tune. Do enjoy!
