nickdouglas:
I describe a film plot based on two movies. You tell me the combined title. For example:
Plot: suburban family gets mad at a hairy mountain-
beast for satirizing them in his roman-a-clef.
Title: Deconstructing Harry and the Hendersons. So reblog or comment with an answer to the following, but ONLY if you write your own too.
Plot: Two pot smoking half-wits from New Jersey travel back in time to stop hollywood from making a movie about their comic book character personas.
bullshit:
Answer: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back to the Future
New plot: A delusional young man buys a life-size sex doll over the Internet, and falls in love with her. The family intervenes by sending the doll to a mental institution after an apparent suicide attempt, where she befriends the other patients and battles her personal demons.lonelysandwich:
Answer: Lars and the Real Girl, InterruptedA Deliberate Pace:
New Movie Combo: Two young aliens must hurry to get back to their spacecraft with the help of a cab driver in order to avoid capture by an extraterrestrial bounty hunter. While fleeing, despite being on opposite sides, the cabbie and the bounty hunter develop a love that dare not speak it’s name.
and a few Garrett and I just bounced around (yes, his are MUCH more concise than mine. but then again, have you met me??):
Plot 1: A boy’s life is changed forever when his highly unstable mother sends him to live with an even more unstable Jamaican bobsled team. (Garrett)
Plot 2: a young stable boy finds his true love, but she has already been promised to royalty. the lovers are possessed and then imprisoned in toys. Our hero uses his strength and wits as he and his unlikely friends try to save the girl and fulfill their own vendettas against a grossly disfigured adversary. Oh and they get married at the end. (Me)
Plot 3: A dystopian portrait of two 1970s suburban Connecticut families who crew an ill-fated fishing boat. (Garrett)
Plot 4: In this period adaptation, an ex assassin and his wife find themselves stuck in the struggle between upward mobility and suburban conformity. when the couple’s dreams for themselves are slowly abandoned and gangsters come looking for him, the husband takes their child and flees the only life he’s ever known. (Me) or if you prefer: When suburban ennui becomes too much and his marriage collapses, a former hitman takes his son on the run from gangsters intent on murdering him. (Garrett)
Take a few guesses. And post your own.
here’s another:
when two musicians witness a crime, they disguise themselves as women and hide out with a bunch of stoners on the last day of camp.
A young man pretends to have a son in order to romance single mothers only to find himself in the hot seat and 1 question away from winning a million dollars.
Ok, that last one didn’t follow the rules. Take 2:
A middle aged man in a dysfunctional family attempts to have an affair with his daughter’s friend only to find that she is in love with a big and unattractive being.
liza, i seriously was just at lunch thinking of good ways to word that exact same combination. but obviously, yours was far more concise.
oh, and here’s one i gave garrett earlier:
a slapstick noir about three hapless friends who are forced to become an unlikely family when a neighborhood girl goes missing, and the deeply principled detectives who help face a moral dilemna of diaper changes and drug lords.
new plot
a young farmer watches over his disabled brother and and mother as they set out for the central valley in search of land and wealth
New Plot:
Two friends get high and just want to eat some delicious burgers. A crazy adventure ensues and they end up dressing in drag to go undercover in order to save some girls from being kidnapped. Neil Patrick Harris guest stars.
Ok, I am so addicted. New plot:
A modern take on a Shakespeare classic. An unlikely love story set in a high school where a young man pretends to have a son in order to hit on single mothers.
Much Ado About a [Nothing] Boy?
garrett’s from yest: Four young girls do a lot of growing up the summer that they spend hunting a renegade Green Beret in the forests of Cambodia during the Vietname War.
also, absolutely loved yours so much im posting it:
a little girl enlists her dysfunctional family to take a road trip so she can compete in a beauty contest. Her memory is erased on the trip.
